Adult Dosage:
1. GERD / heartburn
40 mg once daily, before breakfast
Duration: 4–8 weeks
2. Gastric or duodenal ulcer
40 mg once daily
Duration: 4–8 weeks depending on severity
3. H. pylori treatment
40 mg twice daily
With antibiotics (usually clarithromycin + amoxicillin)
4. NSAID-induced ulcer prevention
20–40 mg once daily
5. Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
40 mg twice daily (may be increased under physician supervision)

Contraindications:
Avoid use in:
Known allergy to Esomeprazole, omeprazole, or other PPIs
Severe liver disease (dose adjustment needed)
Combination with certain drugs (risk of interactions):
Clopidogrel (reduces its effect)
Nelfinavir (antiviral)
Rilpivirine, warfarin (needs caution)

Precautions:
Take on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before breakfast.
Do not crush or chew the tablet.
Long-term use (>3–6 months) should be monitored due to risk of:
Vitamin B12 deficiency
Low magnesium
Calcium deficiency
Use cautiously in kidney disease
Avoid in patients on clopidogrel unless advised
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor.
