Used For:

• Doxt-SL is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including:Respiratory tract infections: bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitisUrinary tract infections (UTIs)Skin and soft tissue infections (acne, boils, abscesses)Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis (early stages)Rickettsial infections: typhus, scrub typhus, tick-borne feverMalaria prophylaxis (in certain areas)Periodontal (gum) infectionsPelvic inflammatory disease (PID)Acne vulgaris (long-term, low-dose use)

Contraindications:

• Do not use Doxt-SL in:Allergy to doxycycline, other tetracyclines, or lactic acid bacillusPregnancy and breastfeeding (risk of tooth discoloration and bone effects in fetus/infant)Children <8 yearsSevere liver or kidney impairmentSystemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) — may exacerbate symptoms

Side Effects:

• Common (mild):Nausea, vomiting, diarrheaHeartburn or abdominal painLoss of appetitePhotosensitivity (skin more sensitive to sunlight)Mild oral/vaginal fungal infections

Precautions:

• Take after meals with plenty of water; do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking.Avoid sunlight or tanning — wear sunscreen and protective clothing.Avoid antacids, iron, calcium, or zinc supplements within 2 hours (they reduce absorption).Use alternative contraception (doxycycline reduces oral contraceptive efficacy).Do not use beyond prescribed duration to avoid antibiotic resistance.Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, or lupus.

Dietary Restrictions:

• Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs (slightly reduces absorption but improves tolerance).Avoid alcohol — may reduce antibiotic effectiveness and increase liver toxicity risk.Avoid dairy products, iron, and antacids around dosing time (space by at least 2 hours).Drink plenty of water (prevents esophageal irritation).Maintain probiotic-rich diet (curd, yogurt, kefir) to support gut health.
