Used For:

• Dexorange is used to treat or prevent iron deficiency and anemia, especially in conditions where there’s increased need for iron or vitamin supplementation:Iron deficiency anemia (due to chronic blood loss or nutritional deficiency)Anemia during pregnancy or lactationAnemia in growing children and adolescentsPost-surgery or post-illness recoveryGeneral weakness, fatigue, and pallorSupplement in menstruating womenSupportive therapy in chronic diseases causing anemia

Adult Dosage:

• Syrup: 15 mL once or twice daily after meals.Capsule: 1 capsule once daily after meals.Dosage may be increased or adjusted depending on the severity of anemia and physician’s advice.Duration: Generally 1–3 months or until hemoglobin levels normalize.

Contraindications:

• Avoid Dexorange in:Known hypersensitivity to iron salts, folic acid, or vitamin B12Hemochromatosis / hemosiderosis (iron overload disorders)Hemolytic anemia (not caused by iron deficiency)Liver cirrhosis or severe hepatic impairmentPeptic ulcer or active GI bleedingRepeated blood transfusions (iron stores already high)

Side Effects:

Precautions:

• Take after food to minimize gastric irritation.Use cautiously in patients with liver disorders, peptic ulcers, or inflammatory bowel disease.Do not use for anemias not caused by iron deficiency.Store safely — iron overdose is dangerous for children.Prolonged use should be monitored by checking hemoglobin and ferritin levels.Avoid self-medication for prolonged periods without doctor’s advice.

Dietary Restrictions:

• Take after meals (preferably with vitamin C–rich food like orange juice to improve iron absorption).Avoid tea, coffee, and milk within 1–2 hours of taking Dexorange — they reduce iron absorption.Avoid alcohol (can irritate the stomach and reduce absorption).Eat an iron-rich diet: green leafy vegetables, red meat, beetroot, lentils, jaggery, dates, raisins.Maintain good hydration to prevent constipation.
